Welcome to the Big Sky Athletic Training Sports Medicine Conference, BSATSMC, website.

This year’s conference is set to start Super Bowl Sunday, February 5th and continue through Thursday, February 9th at Big Sky Resort in Big Sky, Montana.

  • Concussion Updates will be on Tuesday, February 7th, 2017
  • Ortho Day is Wednesday/Thursday February 8th and 9th, 2017

The schedule has been updated and the speakers have been selected! Please note that the MLB Day is not scheduled this year because of the early reporting dates for the MLB Personnel. However, we have a strong program with nationally known speakers.

EBP UPdate! No charge will be assessed for those ATC who request EBP Credits for the Tuesday and Wednesday sessions. Thanks to the generous response of our Sponsors, all the processing costs are covered.

The BSATSMC is recognized by the Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education for Certified Athletic Trainers. Up to 20 CEUs may be awarded. Speakers may apply to the Board of Certification for  an additional 10 CEUs for presenting.

Continuing Medical Education and Evidence Based Practice credits are being processed by the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, which is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME.)  Please go to to News for more information.

There are no registration fees for attending the meeting. The entire cost of the meeting is paid for by the conference sponsors.  Sponsorship is limited to activities outside of the meeting to comply with CME, CEU and EBP accrediting.

This meeting is intended to be a free communication among interested professionals. Most attendees will be Athletic Trainers, Allied Medicine Professionals and Physicians.  Unfortunately there will be no stipends or travel reimbursement given for speakers who attend.

Poster presentations have been included since 2014 and have been a resounding success. Athletic Trainers who are Poster Presenters will receive an additional 10 CEUs.  Special emphasis is given to original research, especially in the area of concussions.  Printing and production costs for poster presentations will be paid for by the BSATSMC. Those interested in submitting a poster presentation should also contact Jeffrey Monroe at bsatsmc@gmail.com.
